Martina qualified from Trinity College, Dublin in 1986 with a degree in physiotherapy. She has completed a wide range of post-graduate physiotherapy courses. These include orthopedics, neck, and back, neurology, sports injuries, rehabilitation, antenatal and postnatal care, work hardening and functional capacity evaluation.
Career Experience: Martina worked in St. James’s Hospital, Mount Carmel and the National Medical Rehabilitation Centre in Dublin and DGH Hospital, Michigan, USA. Whilst working in these hospitals she gained experience in orthopedics, neck, back, neurology, sports injuries, rehabilitation, spinal injuries and ante and postnatal care. She has travelled abroad with the Irish Davis Cup Team and had been involved with the National Coaching and Training Centre in Limerick assisting in flexibility testing of elite athletes. She has been involved in occupational health and pre-employment flexibility screening. Martina is a functional capacity evaluator.
Anne graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1979.She worked initially in the National Rehabilitation Centre and following this she moved to work as a physiotherapist to Guinness Brewery. There she worked in their out patient department and oversaw the lifting and handling safety programme. In 1985 she relocated to Vancouver, Canada and spent the next six years specializing in orthopedics and sports injuries, gaining her E2V2. Through her interest in this area Anne was involved in the setting up and running of back pain rehabilitation clinics. She returned to Ireland in 1990 and joined Southside Physiotherapy Clinic. She has continued her interest in the use of manual therapy for the treatment of the spine and muscular skeletal disorders
Germaine graduated from University College Dublin in 1994 and initially worked in hospitals in England and Dublin, Ireland. She has extensive experience in the private sector having worked in private practice for 5 years before joining Southside Physiotherapy Clinic in 2009.
Germaine is skilled in all areas of musculoskeletal medicine but especially in rehabilitation through exercise. She has undertaken extensive post graduate training in Pilates Instruction and is a member of the internationally recognised Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute (APPI). Germaine has built up a superb reputation for her Pilates Classes, which she individually tailors for each class participant.
She has completed an in MSc Physiotherapy at UCD, specialising in advanced practice of musculoskeletal medicine. Her unique MSc research has investigated the effectiveness of Pilates for management of neck pain. She has experience working with sports teams having travelled as team physiotherapist with the Irish National Basketball team.
A Class Two league tennis player, Germaine has a deep affiliation with patients presenting with sports injuries!
Judith graduated with a BSc(Hons) from Trinity College Dublin in 1997. She worked initially in The Mater Hospital and Temple Street Hospital. She has extensive experience in private practice, having worked in a number of private practices in Dublin and also ran her own private practice in Gorey for several years. Judith has also worked for considerable time in Community Care.
Judith has been continually updating her clinical manual skills and has obtained a Certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy to further enhance her musculoskeletal skills.
Judith has worked with numerous sports teams working with athletes both casual and elite athletes of all ages. She was the physiotherapist for Michael Smurfit Business Schools rugby team which won the Business League World Cup in USA in 2001.
A keen tennis player herself, Judith appreciates the difficulties encountered by patients presenting with sports injuries!
Caroline qualified as a chartered Physiotherapist in 1991. In 2000 she completed her Masters Degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. She achieved a Distinction in her membership exams for the Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. Caroline completed a Higher Diploma in Acupuncture at UCD in 2007. She is currently completing a post graduate Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy at UCD.
She worked for 5 years as a Senior Outpatient Physiotherapist in, the award winning teaching Hospital, Whittington Hospital, London. Caroline has worked in private practice since returning to Ireland in 2005. Caroline has an expertise and a special interest in treating people suffering from chronic pain, sports injuries and musculoskeletal disorders.
Background in Banking for 21 years and following that was a Business Manager in a car retail business. Carolyn joined Southside Physiotherapy in February 2004. Carolyn is responsible for the efficient day-to-day running of the office. Her responsibilities include general administration, accounts, liaising with patients and companies; and in general co-ordinating a top-quality professional service.
