Tension type headaches (TTH) are extremely common with up to 70% of the general population experiencing them at some stage in their life. Tension type headaches are very often caused by biomechanical deficits and muscular imbalances in the neck which then results in small muscle groups being unnecessarily overloaded. Tension type headaches are extremely common in desk based workers or people who suffer from high levels of stress.

TTH common symptoms include:

  • Pain in head, neck and/or face
  • Pain usually presents on both sides
  • A feeling of pressure/tension around your head, almost like a tight band around your head
  • Secondary pain in the neck and/or upper back
